We have more puppies! Last Saturday, May 12, Wessa had her litter.  There are six viable puppies.  This is our one longcoated litter of the year and they are all sold.  Here is their newborn picture.  Curiously, the females are each sable and the males are black and tan.  Max, my Search and Rescue Dog,  and Wessa are the proud parents.

Now get a look at this.  Above you have a litter of newborns similar to the puppy pictures I sent out last week.  Look at the difference a week makes!

Here is last week:

and here is this week.

The fun thing about puppies is that they get cuter and more fun by the day.  Here are some more pics.  Notice the tan markings beginning to come through.

And finally, you remember the picture last week with all nine pups in a basket.  Here it is.

Look at them now. Only three pups fit in the basket.

Bree is ever the fantastic mom.  She has her pups fed, diapered and put to bed, so to speak.  Wessa hasn't been quite so systematic.  The two littlest of her pups, we've been hand feeding with supplement.  But Wessa's maternal instincts are improving by the day.  Today, she had all six pups nursing.  Though Wessa's pups are all placed, there are still some openings for a pup from Bree.  It's time for schutzhund training on the other side of town, uh, make that the next state, Washington, so I'm off, but I'll try to get some updated pictures of Wessa's pups out soon, Keep your emails coming.  They make my day!  Best Regards, Elizabeth
