December 2,
Puppies and Updates
We started November 1 with pups born in the early morning to Wessa and Max. Here they are a month later with one more month to go before they go home.

That same day we had the Schutzhund Trial. You may remember that Hero who was preparing for his Schutzhund 1, split his foot a few weeks before, so he was unable to enter. But I entered Tag, now eight years old, the grandmother of these puppies, just for the fun of it. She passed her tracking phase fine. In obedience, I wasn't going to demand that she go over the high jumps, so I knew we would lose points, which we did. Then for protection, she showed such pluck, but did not seem to hear me, when I told her to "Out" after the courage test. I'll need to practice my voice for next time. My "soft" dog, disqualified for not outing. I have to love it! I was so proud of her for jumping in to fill the spot when she had not been trained in schutzhund for at least four years. She is quite a dog!

Tag stopping the "Escape" in her Schutzhund I Trial.
Hannah entered Jake for his BH which they achieved, adding more to Jake's growing resume.
With the Schutzhund Trial behind us, we started something else really fun.
SLEDDOGGING!

Here are Chinook (Max, Wessa), Jake, and Luger (Imo, Daila) staring in awe as the Alaskan Malamutes get hooked onto the sled.
Now it's their turn.

Is this not a beautiful team! Hero's foot is now fully healed and that is him at the left rear wheel along with our other three. (NO the malamutes are not ours! But they do belong to a dear friend who is using the trained sleddogs to help teach our rookies).
The month ended as it began with PUPPIES! Ulrika had her pups from Strongheart (V Imo Vom Werraufer SCH III, FH) on November 29.

Here is a photo just sent to us of one of last year's pups from the same breeding. This is Beemer, now six months old.

The pictures you have been sending in are fantastic. You can find them as you browse the website, particularly under the Update pages. There are also more puppy pictures coming to the Current Litters page on the website. Thank you so much for keeping in touch!
