Max and Sara's Puppies
3 Weeks Old
Here they are! These are the long coated puppies out of our Search and Rescue Dog, Max, and Sara, the beautiful black longcoated DDR female.

At three weeks old, they are barely awake. We have started giving them goat’s milk as a supplement for Sara and to help with weaning. At feeding time, they wake up, scurry to the trough, and then fall back asleep again. You can see that they didn’t make it through this photo session before they needed to eat again and then fall back to sleep. They are precious.
You can be sure that these puppies are getting a lot of handling. Right now, the whelping box is in our laundry room. Other than the kitchen, which is like a thoroughfare at times, in our large family, the laundry room is a place where I spend a lot of time. The trick is getting laundry folded when there are puppies to cuddle. Hannah has it figured out. She sits with them while they drink their goat’s milk and they climb into her lap. Of course, that all makes more laundry for me…..and so the cycle continues.
