AKC Agility is an amazing sport. At the higher levels of Excellent and Masters, the courses tend to be more complex, including not only the customary obstacles of the Walk, A-Frame, Tunnel, Hoop, Weave Poles, and many jumps, but also with many twists and turns. This makes it a challenge for the handler as well as the dog. Keeping on course is a challenge, as the handler must anticipate the direction for the dog, before the speeding dog reaches that point. The best handlers are quick to indicate to the dog the desired direction well in advance so the dog has time to pivot or collect themselves for a turn.

A dog like Nika, LOVES this sport. She is attentive to my directions, making the challenge mine, to direct her correctly and on time. These challenges are what make Agility so much fun!
