The BH is both an Obedience and Temperament test, similar but different than the AKC CD. The dog must perform precise obedience, with long healing patterns, sit and down stay, recall at a distance, and healing through a group. There is also a long Down Stay with Distraction, where the dog must remain in the down position with the handler at a distance, while another dog performs the Obedience exercises nearby.

After all this, there is the Temperament Portion where the dog must show sound temperament in a crowd and also with a bicycle, jogger, and unfamiliar dog.

Nika rocked it! The challenge for us is that in Schutzhund the handler does not say the dog's name prior to commands and also the return to the dog after a stay is a bit different. But Nika did great!

The weather was cold and wet, but the Top K9 Schutzhund Club put on a fantastic top knotch trial, with good food, prizes for all participants, and a welcoming friendliness that effectively countered the weather. It was so much fun for me to see friends again. Shout Out to Top K9 and all the dear people there!
