At five weeks old, you can start to see the difference in coat type from a long coated German Shepherd puppy and a short standard coated puppy.  It is more difficult in person than in these photos, but here you go. Did you figure it out? In both pictures, the puppy on the left is the long coated pup.  The best way to tell is looking at the muzzle....

These puppies are only two and a half weeks old, a little early to be trying to eat on their own. But with eleven, we thought something to supplement mom would help out. They certainly seem to think that was a good idea! Of course, drinking from a dish is a skill to be learned, a gurgle here, a nose full there, one by one they master it with a lap lap...
